Phantom Gourd and the Rest

The phantom gourd creeper grew a fruit today and I found out it's luffa/petola, one of my favorite veggie. That means, I have to fertilize it and wonder if I should move it to the patch. I mean there's some free space on the patch now. I pulled the red okra today when I saw them infected with something. One Japanese cucumber plant and french died. So I think I can grow this next to the french bean.

I finally made something with the first cucumber that I harvested - cucumber yogurt sauce for grilled fish today. I'm leaving the second cucumber to seed and harvested 2 cucumbers.

Sun was in full force today my carrots withered. I pulled one out and it was quite fat but short.

So I noticed one zucchini plant grows a lot of female while the other two don't,

A couple more young fruit rotted.

My neglected seedlings. Those are spinach, leek and more spinach. The 3 newspaper pots were chili, they didn't germinated.

Another tray of neglected seedlings. Front to back: Giant Italian parsley and coriander, tomato with parsley, etiolated white radish, onion and Columbine with 2 rogue strawflowers.

I still haven't move the cotton plants to the ground. I really should but the mosquitoes are really crazy right now it's discouraging me from going out there.

My patch. Zucchini and sweet potato are overgrown, another cabbage head kaputted by insect. I accidentally pulled out the kailan that's growing seed pods. It was on my way.

Fruits section is doing not too bad - Longan is still at flowering stage.

At least6 jackfruits are fattening up on the tree. I really wish I know when to harvest because the first one that I harvested didn't even form fruit inside.

Mulberry shrubs are shooting shoots with a lot of fruit in vengeance.

Herb patch is also pretty wild. The latest addition - rosemary is not doing ok.

Harvest of the day.

Nothing Like When You Grow Your Own Edibles

The plot has been doing pretty ok - I really need to do something with the weeds and I should have fertilize the plot prior.

Cabbages are a little too slow to my liking.

Hello zucchini! I'm growing Magda variety.

The biggest broccoli and at the back is the red okra. The red okra started to bloom at less than 5 inches so I pinched all of them and they grew bigger.

I think this is french bean!

I've also planted some Japanese cucumbers.

Snow pea! The flowers are so pretty! And look! I have my first pea!

It's difficult to focus and the mosquitoes wore my patience thin.

Borlotti beans! Don't know what happened to the one on the right. It wilted today suddenly.

I chose to grow carrots in the pot with fantastic soft soil so I could get picture perfect carrots.

The remainder of the kailans I grew - I sowed some seeds to fill the space.

I've got some arugula growing too.

And some lionhead/curly lettuce.

I've also recently added stevia to my herb plot.

Hi

Chives, cactus and mint.

Avocado seedlings and Amaryllis that I force-hibernated for a few months in the kitchen closet.

I transplanted my stagnant wild strawberry.

Balsam seedlings (from seed) that I bought from the farmer's market.

Over-matured Japanese kale.

Lavendar has grown a little too wild.

New hydrangea to replace a recently deceased hydrangea, I lost it to crown rot.

The ever-wild basil.

New addition: Lemon seedling sharing the pot with a basil seedling (seed from the ever-wild basil) and some portolucas from my dad's pot.

These are french bean plants, dwarf variety. Got the seeds from the farmers' market too. Other seeds that I've bought and sown are pink bachelor's button and edamame.

My happy Ylang Ylang. It was full of blooms a couple of weeks ago.

Bought a Magnolia Coco a month ago and apparently I planted her into the wrong type of soil. The seller was kind enough to replace me with a new one.

Updates and New Additions

Over the past weekends, I've bought few new plants.
New lavender! Yay! Been searching for this quite some time.

Medinilla myriantha, also known as Malaysian Grape.

I also got myself an Ylang Ylang plant.

The scent of the flowers filled the balcony, no joke.

2 new ground covers that I pinched from my dad's bonsai pots.

A variety of Japanese roses, from my dad's garden. It's fuchsia, white and orange.

An Indian curry plant seedling.

Red okra seedlings! Now occupying the pot that used (actually somewhat) mint from Austria. The mint died and only one tiny plant survived which is the one at 2 o'clock in the picture right now.

Nai pak seedlings on the right, Japanese kale seedlings on the left.

Local mints that I grew from seeds which I got as a gift.

My basil seedlings revived after suffering from lack of water. Next to it was the Ylang Ylang bloom that fell off when I was transporting it to the balcony.

Supermarket lemon seedling.

2 rogue basil seedlings in my empty pot.

Wild strawberry and a random seedling - I'm keeping it for now to see what it is.

Clemson okra pod that I'm planning to let it to seed. Seems like it's reaching its end soon.

Avocado seed from my colleague's lunch that I'm germinating now.
