Updates and New Additions

Over the past weekends, I've bought few new plants.
New lavender! Yay! Been searching for this quite some time.

Medinilla myriantha, also known as Malaysian Grape.

I also got myself an Ylang Ylang plant.

The scent of the flowers filled the balcony, no joke.

2 new ground covers that I pinched from my dad's bonsai pots.

A variety of Japanese roses, from my dad's garden. It's fuchsia, white and orange.

An Indian curry plant seedling.

Red okra seedlings! Now occupying the pot that used (actually somewhat) mint from Austria. The mint died and only one tiny plant survived which is the one at 2 o'clock in the picture right now.

Nai pak seedlings on the right, Japanese kale seedlings on the left.

Local mints that I grew from seeds which I got as a gift.

My basil seedlings revived after suffering from lack of water. Next to it was the Ylang Ylang bloom that fell off when I was transporting it to the balcony.

Supermarket lemon seedling.

2 rogue basil seedlings in my empty pot.

Wild strawberry and a random seedling - I'm keeping it for now to see what it is.

Clemson okra pod that I'm planning to let it to seed. Seems like it's reaching its end soon.

Avocado seed from my colleague's lunch that I'm germinating now.

Hit & Miss

I have been pretty diligent lately, spending more time at the balcony taking care of the plants and watering a lot more since it has been really hot.

Monkey pitcher is now sharing the pot with a rogue fern.

Alor Vera from Spain, succulent from Santorini are doing pretty well after much care and fertilizing.

Bentong ginger isn't doing well - it doesn't need as much water that I thought it'd be.

My pot of random succulents are looking better. A lot had died as you can see and I've started to fertilize them. See those fertilizers? They stink like chicken poo.

More basil seedlings popped out on the mint pot.

Transplanted the hydrangea to a bigger pot with Miracle-Gro soil that used to house the miniature gardenia. Oh the gardenia died after almost week of transplant.

Desert rose flowering again!

Okra plants are still producing - this time shooting out from the leaves too.

Okra container is sharing with a single shallot that grew shoot. Those seedlings in the egg box are basil seedlings for my colleague.

Sowed some Japanese kale seeds and they have sprouted the next day. It's sharing container with white turnip (free seeds from the usual site I bought my seeds).

Wild strawberries are growing pretty slow. I have made a mistake by planting them too deep covering the crown.

The rest of baby Chinese kales that I grew the last time.

Those aren't evening primrose, they are mints actually.

My chives are so small!

Supermarket lemon seedling!

Unexpected Dinner

All thanks to Odyssey, we had microgreens, which were my bokchoy seedlings,  for dinner.

On another note, I harvested my basil to make pesto. I'm thinking to replace the overgrown and gone-wild basil with my new seedlings.

New Kids on the Block

or rather, on the balcony.
I miss having hydrangea blooms that I stopped by at the nursery to grab one. I learned that if I were to buy a pot or two, I will need to wait at least few month after Chinese New Year because the leftovers of the stock would be acclimatized to the hotter climate here.

My wild strawberries and a lemon seedling that are sharing the soil with remainder of my baby Kailan.

Sowed some bok choys not so long ago. Odyssey scratched 1/3 of the pot out.

I dumped some dried basil flowers to the mint pot and looks like some seeds germinated.

Apart from the hydrangea, I picked these two for the vertical garden we have at another apartment.

Okra Be Cool

Finally I get to witness the gorgeous flower!

The first okra is getting bigger day by day.

My baby Chinese kale. Note the difference of the growth. One has better sun exposure, obviously. The smaller baby Chinese kale is sharing soil with wild strawberries that I brought back from Austria and a lemon seedling.

Mint form Austria.

First harvest of my baby Chinese kale as last night's dinner.

Simple stir-fry with garlic. It's so yummy!
