I'm already thinking to grow longan and this is just a test since one of the seeds was growing shoot so I planted it. I will definitely be buying a grafted one.

 Avocado seedlings. If I could, I would buy a grafted/marcotted one too. Just take too long to grow from seed and the risk of it not fruiting is too high.

Little Update

I was away for the week for work so I didn't do much except germinating some basil genovese seeds before I left (only 3 of them germinated).

After coming back, I prepped the kaffir lime seeds from the kaffir limes I got from my dad's tree and germinated them. Outer layer of the seeds were peeled off and I soaked them in wet paper towel for germination.

Speaking of my dad, his plot currently is full of pumpkin seedlings that grew out from my brother's compost it's hilarious. My dad grows mostly fruit trees and ornamental plants- mango, malabar plum (sweet-smelling fruit that's very susceptible to worms!), kaffir lime, apple mint, desert rose (whole lot of them!) and orchids. I recently gave him a lemon tree which flourished under Lumut's sun. I also introduced My Lestary Seeds to my brother so there's a huge possibility they might start growing vegetables. I hope they do. :)

 My lemon tree finally died so I cleared it to plant my avocado seedling.

Update on my self-watering system using wine bottle with my hydrangea- well, it didn't work, my hydrangea was so dehydrated. However an hour of watering, it bounced back. I am definitely going to invest in an Ikea self-watering pot as I will be away for a week after Christmas and I don't want to put the hydrangea in stress again.

Other than that, my potatoes are growing away but my kohlrabi seeds aren't. Heh. Might be placing a new order from My Lestary Seeds since I have higher success rate with her seeds although I will point out that only one lavender seed germinated.

Since I will be going away again soon, I will be putting off germinating some of the lettuce seeds.

It's Not a Bad Thing

With BF not around and a long weekend due to National Day, I have time aplenty. I've been waking up early too so I'm feeling industrious. Spent last two mornings with Coco on long walk. Been fiddling around my garden balcony too. 

My lemon has not been doing so good. 

Today I germinated tomato seeds BF bought few months back.

Pulled the baby of the succulents I have in the bathroom and planted it outside at the balcony.

 Moved the portulaca and purslane to individual pots to save myself the trouble of repotting when they are bigger and also to make space for the ginger.

The small knob of ginger I planted on Friday. There's a growing root already. It takes 8-10 months to harvest.

The Great Pruning

The last spider mite attack really affected my plumerias. I came back to a sick-looking Dwarf Singapore Pink after a 3-day business trip.

The leaves had black spots and dropped.

This prompted me to prune the leaves - I've been having a lagging but mild issue with mealy bugs too, particularly on the Dwarf Singapore Pink. One of them also had very little rust. Gotta keep them under control!

Free Penang Peach Plumeria cuttings by Free Tree Society that they salvaged from a cut tree.

My Maung Pani's inflo. I am patiently waiting for it.

I tried again planting edible plants, this is garlic.

Green onion. It didn't look like it's going to grow so I pulled the one behind out and lo and behold, it grew a new root.

Just planted this parsley. Was clearing the fridge and found this withered parsley.

My lemon grew more flowers. It seemed like I overwatered again. I suppose that caused the yellowing of the leaves. I also threw the moss away.

Bought a new lotus - it's white. I also changed the pot to this. 

Mom gave me this pandanus (screwpine) to grow when I went home last weekend. It's expensive to buy the leaves in the city.

I brought back some wild poppy seeds from the vacation. It's been almost 2 weeks since but... let's hope for the best.

Got myself another fiddle-leaf leaf for the living room last week. Only repotted today in the pot I used to grow lotus.

Hi! Hello!

I'm back! My sister was tasked to water my plants and thank god, nothing died this time - ok my lotus died, and that's because of me repotting it. :/

 The Maung Pani (I think) is thriving and it seems to have an inflo!

My lemon tree came back alive - growing new shiny leaves and even flowered!

The plumerias I brought to Austria looked good before we left for Italy. The Malaysia Red even decided to grow an inflo! I hope they will survive the winters!

Straightening Them Up

I finally had the time to go get some sticks to straighten up my new plumeria, which is a Kauka Wilder, and while I was at it, the lemon tree was straightened too.
Kauka Wilder unfortunately was impacted by the broken roots. I had to strip most of the leaves off as they have turned yellow and some of them had rust too so now it looks pretty bald. 
I will be getting more plumerias soon, hopefully by this week. I thought I was going to get rooted ones but I would be getting cuttings instead. There had been miscommunication with the nursery so yeah...  Let's just hope I don't kill them.

Hello, How Do You Do

Moving house this time is pretty intense and a long process. We still have boxes unpacked and stuff like that. BUT.... that doesn't stop me from buying more plants! YAY!

Last week, I scored a lemon tree, another plumeria and a gorgeous adenium for my dad, which I feel like keeping it to myself.

The plumeria that I got at a discounted price, MYR45 without me asking for it. I was quite curious as to why the nursery owner was so nice. Being an amateur, I only found out the reason when I wanted to repot it, the plant is terribly slanted that it's almost impossible to plant it straight. Now I need to find a stick to get it straightened. The blooms were pretty nevertheless. Again, the soil crumbled apart during repotting that the roots broke apart. Sigh.

 The gorgeous adenium aka desert rose I'm planning to give to my dad. They are double flowers.
