New Year, New Me, Maybe

So I definitely haven't spending a lot of time outdoor due to mosquitoes and a recent huge event that happened. But some of the plants are doing pretty good on their own. The huge kauka wilder now blooms a lot more which is great although she's still having rust.

Purple balsam!

Zinnia.

Pink rose.

I think this is dahlia.

Freesias.

The Prince bloomed.

Memphis Magic rose are not showing its stripes somehow.

One of the Autumn Beauty sunflower.

The bigger broccoli is infested by something.

Cabbage!

Broken

Mosquitoes broke me. I no longer could enjoy gardening. I had to keep my action haste and it's giving me grievance.
Other than that, I purchased more annuals yesterday: zinnia, cosmos and marigolds. I also bought a pot of bird eye chilli.

Odyssey dug out the cosmos and peach zinnia 5 minutes after I planted them into the ground. God damn it.

As you can see, the dual-colored balsams are reaching their end. Hydrangeas are growing pretty slow.

I'm quite disappointed to see this rose variety has such a small bloom.

The Prince (David Austin variety) has arrived. It's quite different from what I have expected.

I very quickly transplanted tomato and white radish seedlings to this plot. I got dizzy few times from getting up quickly to get the mosquitoes off me. ARGH!

Jee Petch looking extra pretty today!

Inedibles

Ms Ridleyi lost one of her fronds.

But she's growing two more!

Elephantotis growing new shields.

A random baby on the Elkhorn.

I thought I lose the maidenhair fern but no! Lucky I didn't pull it out and chuck away!

One plumeria finally blooming! Can't wait see what variety this is!

Wild orchid, they said. I need to find out the name.
** 6/12/2017 - ID identified: Arundina Orchid aka Bamboo Orchid

Cute balsams. Will be collecting seeds and sell soon.

Random thing growing among the rainlily. I accidentally pulled out some of the tuberose bulbs during weeding so I planted them in here too.

All the mulberry bush had major pruning again.

I uprooted the remaining of dahlia seedlings that I transplanted to ground near entrance. Odyssey trampled most of them. The reason I uprooted and clear the area is to plant some more durable (and cheap) for an upcoming event in January. Marigold maybe? I purchased 6 pots of marigold at RM24 today. Quite a steal as someone told me she bought a pot at RM6.

I also cleared on another side where I transplanted the lavender-colored balsams.

The area where I intend to grow the Botanical Interests Perennial Mix. I should start sowing the seeds.

Ornamental Delight

I must say the balsam took quite long to flower.

The previous tenants left 2 pots of wild orchids Bamboo Orchid and they didn't look good. After 2 rounds of fertilizers, they start to bloom.

I found that this is Brazilian Button and although they are quite pretty, they are invasive.

It's nice to pass by Ylang-ylang and get a whiff of her.

The pink and white roses are starting to bloom again after fertilising.

Few of my calendulas have been trampled by Odyssey.

Peach-colored canna lily my neighbour shared with me.

Sunflower seedlings - not doing well due to lack of water.

Dahlia seedling.

I totally forgot about watering the platyceriums that a few wilted, especially the ridleyi. For a moment I thought I was going to lose her but today she perked up.

Tuesday Noon

Sweet potato has grown a couple of slips.

Doesn't seem like the Thai Basil will grow root. Maybe I could collect the seeds from the flowers.

Heirloom tomato seedlings.

Hydrangea has a huge surprise for me. Look at that!

Her sprouts are growing bigger too. I'm glad she's happy here.

Chinese kale ain't that happy.

So is the Magnolia Lily. Lost few leaves. Note the birdnest fern my bf got from me. I noticed it growing from a rail on our apartment lobby and I told him I wanted it. He surprised me this.

The slimmest edamame pods I've ever seen.

Balsam seedlings and the highland hydrangea co-existing peacefully.

More growth on the Magnolia Coco.

For some weird reason, like my Magnolia Lily, one branch lost all its leaves but Coco is growing some sprouts.

Finally some visible growth for Avocado Miki.

Another drastic growth is Bachelor's buttons.

Cute little growth tuberose.

I didn't close the door tightly and Odyssey got out and lay herself comfortably. She does this because I can't carry her into.
