Everyone's Woken Up

Marantha continues to bloom more.

Look who's unfurling a new leaf! It's the Monstera Variegata! Her root game is strong I might to repot soon.

Pluto also has been throwing out new leaves.

Squamiferum is going nuts! She even branches out now.

Hovaria finally sprouted! 

Kaffir lime is also enjoying the extra sunshine she's getting she's sprouting new leaves. They are yummy.

Krimson Princess also woke up, she has some blush now due to the sunshine and growing some new leaves. Micans is always a happy camper, look how full she is now in the background and she's gotten very long that I pinned it back to the soil so she can be fuller.

There are some fungus growing on the tongranulat for both Networks that I'm cutting down the watering but it's great to see her pushing out a lot of leaves. 

Another that's not too good is the mother cactus leaf fern, she's deteriorating. I don't know what's wrong with her, I'm just glad I have some rooted ones as spare. 

I was a little worried with Stephania as all her roots rotted after I pulled her out the other day, but today I pulled it again to see if she's rotted and she didn't instead she grew some roots. I really hope I didn't harm her again this time so I transfered to tongranulated instead. Now that it's warmer I moved her to the window sill. *Pray*.

New Continent, New Address

I have been away for too long and I have a couple of good reasons for that - I've become a mother to a boy and we've moved to Europe. That's right. 

I had to say to goodbye to a lot of my plants. Some I gave to my parents to care and I did fly here with four precious (and rare) ones - Huperzia, Maidenhair fern, Ridleyii which died after a week and birdnest fern.

I've also got myself back the Plumerias and Kaffir Lime plant that I gifted to a friend in Austria for he has passed away and the house was sold. MIL brought them back for me. These two I have to move them around to get sun. The kaffir lime was doing exceptionally well I must say - she was flowering so much but now that she's not getting as much sun, not many blooms turned fruit. 

Motivation

Yes.
A lot of plants died - at least 3 plumerias, Thai Basil, pink Amaryllis, supermarket lemon seedlings, local mint, a variety of succulents and avocado.
It somewhat discouraged me but I renewed my motivation and want to focus on edibles instead. The new apartment seems to have better sun exposure but it doesn't look like it helps.

Ginger. I planted another bentong ginger root in. It hasn't send a shoot out yet.

My crazy basil.

Gardenia sprouted so many flower buds and still can't bloom. I was told that the soil wasn't acidic enough that it couldn't absorb the nutrients so I ran out to buy the necessary stuff. I've been spiking the soil with Miracle-Gro (although I bought Mira-Cid but I haven't use it yet since I still have Miracle-Gro, I should have checked my inventory!)

Well, the soil is definitely acidic but what could have gone wrong?!

The kaffir lime seedlings have grown and started to smell like one. It didn't smell like one.

Sowed Clemson okra and all germinated. Transplanted the seedlings few days ago.

Only one out of 4 snap peas sowed germinated. Soaked the remaining 4 seeds last night and have just put them into the soil. The pinkish stuff you see around the seeds were to prevent rotting.

Yes, another avocado.

Another couple of cordylines that I got from the bouquet of flowers (below) my boyfriend surprised me before he left for Greece late last month. 

Water-rooted Thai basil again, this time I'm letting them root more.

The plumeria branches I found 2 months ago. I pulled them out from the pot just because. Now one of them has an inflo.

So now... let me share with you what I have new in store/balcony! We recently went to Greece and Austria and of course, I took some stuff home!

The Alpine Strawberry aka wild strawberry from Austria! They don't look too good now but you can see some might survive. The fruit is the tiniest and has more intense flavour.

Purple magnolia! Below is the mother tree. Behind the tree was white grape. It's a long shot but I'm experimenting in rooting them in water and soil. 

I also brought back 3 varieties of mint: brown mint, balm mint and peppermint. Doesn't look like one of the variety can survive so I pulled one bunch up and try to revive by putting them into water since the roots still look alright. I think that one is balm mint. 

A variety of succulents! One of them is flowering :)

Lastly, this baby came from Santorini. Yes, I took it from the resort we stayed. This should survive since Santorini weather can be harsh

2 tools that I invested recently. The white watering can is from Ikea and the red spray is dirt cheap from a hardware store. It holds a litre.

Overdue Update

 Basil has started to seed.

 Kaffir limes, onion, rosemary and mother of thousands.

The magnolia seeds I bought from Sydney turned out not to be magnolia. WTF

Aussie Succulents are growing super well! Yay~ 

One Before the Road

 Last Saturday saw me visiting the usual nursery to pick up some plumeria seedlings and desert rose to bring to Berlin this week. 

I bought a yellow plumeria and another grey purple (according to the guy), 2 desert roses (single petal, darker pink), a kaffir lime and a lantana (aka chicken shit flowers).

Will also transport these in my suitcase bare-rooted.

Because the nursery guy told me they have purple grey plumeria, I scored a larger seedling for myself. :)

A TIme for My Balcony Garden

After walking Odyssey, I spent a hour at my balcony re-organising the pots and gave hydrangea a little prune. It felt so good to touch the soil and tending to my plants.

There's a new addition to the family though: miniature gardenia (Will retake the photos - the lens was dusty). I bought it online from EM Nursery whom I bought the failed plumeria cuttings from. This time, the delivery was quick - I got it the next day.

It came with 2 flower buds.

My tomato seems to doing pretty good seeing how I have neglecting it. 3 separate clusters with one of them starting to fruit.  The plant also grew taller than me.

 Ms hydrangea still continues to bloom. Need to buy more fertiliser.

The kaffir lime seedlings. The darker ones (from my mom) will be 'smuggled' into Germany for BF's mom and partner in July. The lighter one is my own sowing. Sad looking compared to the ones my mom gave.

Can't say the same about my carrots with 3 left. Should sow more, I suppose.

By the way, I can already smell the lavender from their leaves. It's so good.
