Just When I Got My Confidence Up...

Most of my plants aren't doing great - the acclimatised hydrangea died. House-moving proved to be a little stressful for it, 4 days without water when I left for Osaka and it totally gave up its life after I repotted it.
The red balsam also died. Also from repotting. Good god.
All the plumeria cuttings suffered rot, except Maung Pani. I salvaged the tips and tried again - don't look too good seeing they are rather soft. Sigh. On the other hand, Malaysian Red is thriving. Malaysia Boleh!
The prongs are now more developed and leaves are growing for Malaysian Red.

What's left of my plumeria cuttings. Sad.

My lemon tree isn't doing good too - I was told it is not getting enough sun. WTF.

I stopped by the local nursery and got myself a pot of hydrangea - it's a little thin but well-acclimatised. But it seems I'm not giving it enough water I saw some dried up leaves.

Other than that, the lotus is growing leaves after I put two fertilizer tablets but the leaves aren't growing upright. The duckweeds on the water are growing so much it's almost covering the surface.

My Thumb is Getting Greener

My Malaysian Red which I bought in February never rooted, it was soft and probably dying but it bloomed 3 times for me.
Three weeks ago I repotted it to a mineral water bottle and had not watered it since.
Last night she surprised me with some roots.

Glory Days

Last Saturday saw me and my sister braving the rain and went to two separate nurseries - Selangor Green Lane Sungai Buloh and Green Mart Tropicana (the latter is my regular joint). I bought more plants. Heh.
Inedible lemongrass, serai wangi. The leaves were so fragrant oh my god, it blew me away. Bought this to keep mosquitoes away. Hope it works.

Pink lotus. Finally. I sealed the potholes with epoxy putty but I'm unsure if it's working. Water still leaks a bit from somewhere. The body of the pot is also leaking - I didn't waterproof it. We even managed to snag 6 guppies for RM4 from a nursery. The petshop nearby sell one for RM1.50. What bargain.

My pale pink plumeria, which one plumeria expert thinks it's a seedling, looking very pretty in a new pot and ballet pink gravel.

My Gina Red cutting is going to say hi soon. Excited.

My Malaysian Red, my first love. It's good to know it's still going strong.

A broken branch of my Maung Pani cutting is also looking good. My Salmon Pink cutting didn't survive, it got rotten but I managed to salvage a few inches of the tips and they are being calloused. Will stick them to the soil again in a few days.

My adenium upgraded - looking so much better.

We Stay at the Right Place

Our new place is full of Plumeria; the swimming pool area is full of the pink ones and even our parking sticker for the car is of Plumeria. How about that!

We were away for 4 days; I wasn't really using my head and hope for the best for my hydrangea - I forgot about my auto-watering bird so I came back to slightly wilted plants. Both hydrangeas aren't really happy after move-house - the sprouts are lighter in colour. The balsams are thriving outdoor. The tip of BF's monkey plant was injured during move-house so I had snip it off, now there are two new sprouts. The two new pitchers also kaput actually. Kind of sad.
Oh, I was welcomed by some mushrooms on my fiddle fig leaf. Bizarre, I know.

My plumerias are happy - Kauka Wilder saying hi with brand new leaves.

My pale pink plumeria, which almost died whilst I was repotting, is growing well too. I can't say about the smaller cuttings though. Two of them rotted at the root when I pulled them out just now. I have also repotted the Adenium and changed the lemon tree's sticks to a longer one as it's growing taller and the lemons are getting heavy. Bought Yates Bio-Gold Plant Food and used them on the rooted plumerias, the balsam, lemon plant (leaves are getting yellow, possible low on nitrogen) and the hydrangeas.

Here are some of the floral pictures I took when we visited Osaka last weekend:

The city was full of this flower in a shades of pink, red and white.

 Bonsais sold at Dainenbutsu-ji Temple.

Gorgeous hydrangeas at a supermarket below the hotel. I'm rather jealous that hydrangeas are native to Japan, but then again... plumeria won't thrive there.

Cute daisies by the road while on the way to the aquarium.
