Process of Learning & A Little Update

My Cameron Hydrangea died the same way as my first hydrangea; shoots dying after another, blackened branch and white fungus at the surface of the soil. After a little online research, I figured out how they died; root rot. The soil that I have used, Baba lazy soil isn't as well-drained as I thought it would be and I was so stupid I reused the same soil as my first hydrangea. So sad.

On another hand, the BF bought a huge bloom of mophead hydrangea with a long stem for me the other day so I had it propagated. It started to shoot just the next day, amazing. I vow not to buy Baba lazy soil anymore - instead I would buy the loose soil I got from the nursery at Sg Buloh.

The bloom the BF bought.

My Malaysian Red plumeria is doing great except the flowers now have orange-colour throat and lighter-coloured petals compared to the first round of blooms.

New leaf! Looks like its giving a middle finger. LOL

Two shoots appearing .

BF's monkey cup grew 2 pitchers.

My balsams are growing turning to the direction of the sun.

MY acclimatized hydrangea is doing pretty good too albeit slow-growing shoots.

Can't say about my pale pink plumeria, the branches are rather soft I shouldn't have watered it so much when I repotted it. The flowers buds dropped. Have stop watering since.

Growing

I'm relatively happy with the plants, especially with my deep red plumeria, which its ID should be Malaysian Red. I'm getting my pale pink one ID'ed too.

The upper image was taken today and below was three weeks ago. You can see there will be new leaves growing.

My acclimatized hydrangea, today and three weeks before. The new leaves no longer have spots and growing strong. I read from somewhere hydrangeas are sensitive with winds too, but it seems to hold up well as it's directly before a ceiling fan.
My current worry now has narrowed down only to my Cameron hydrangea. Another bud withered today. Total of three buds died this week and they were located at the top part of the plant. I wonder if this was the effect of the root cutting I did 3 weeks. The colour of leaves have not improved too. In fact I can see some leafing buds are getting pale in colour. Shall wait for answers from the forum again.

Got Plumeria?

So I went and got myself another Plumeria whilst waiting for the other 3 from Kuantan which are due to arrive in April.

Delicate shade of pink. I'm not so keen with its scent; stronger and thicker. Unlike this one, the deep red plumeria has a very delicate scent.
This time, I was more caution of selecting the cuttings, a fellow plumeria enthusiast shared that always do a gentle tug at the stem, if it comes out easily it's not rooted yet.
However I did break most of the roots during repotting. It was planted in clay so the soil fell apart (too dry) long with the delicate roots when I took it out from the vinyl bag.
A plumeria expert that I've consulted told me not to worry about it, it wouldn't affect the plant at all. Let's just hope so.

On a side note for my Cameron Hydrangea, it's getting sick. More buds start to wither and most of the leaves are turning red. There's no autumn or winter here so it wouldn't go dormant. What could have made it so?

Got Greens?

Here's a little update of how my plants are doing.
Cameron Hydrangea is growing great despite some of the buds dried out and a bit discoloration on some leaves (below), I reckon it's due to the disposal of the root grown out of the old pot. That was yesterday's (right) and the first day's (left, 3 weeks ago).

My plumeria has started to root! Oh yeah! The blooming branch starts to branch out too.

Milk solution worked for the acclimatized hydrangea. The new leaves are healthy and of even shade of colour. The treatment leaves whitist residue on the leaves as you can see. I will continue the milk solution treatment for another 3 weeks. What excites me too is the new growths.

More Plumeria

The plumeria got even more wrinkled and soft I transferred it back to the pot and am not watering until next week after getting advice from a local frangipani enthusiasts facebook group.

The moderator of the group sells huge variety of plumerias and I ended up buying three varieties and am having them shipped to me after we move to the new place. I got these:

Salmon Pink Plumeria.

This is called Maung Pani.

Gina Red.

The Bf bought me a great stuff when he was in Berlin:
Scheurich Bördy Water Supplier. Am using it on my Cameron hydrangea.

My 'red' balsam plants are growing. Oh yeah.

I got these succulents from dad's garden when I was back at parents' yesterday.

The mother plant.
